Julianna Lee
Assistant Percussion Instructor
Julianna Lee is the Assistant Percussion Instructor at Cooper Middle School. Ms. Lee earned a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from George Mason University, working with Jonathan Bisesi, John Spirtas, and John Kilkenny. She performed with the GMU Percussion Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and in the pit orchestra. She received a Bachelor of Music degree with a Performance Concentration in Percussion from the University of Virginia. While at UVA, she studied under Professor I-Jen Fang and was a member of the UVA Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, HOOPs Band, and the Charlottesville Symphony. She has performed with the U.S. Air Force Band in their Collegiate Symposium, and numerous concerts with ensembles such as the Crozet Symphony Orchestra, The Washington Balalaika Society, and The Oratorio Society of Virginia. Ms. Lee has been an active percussion instructor in the Northern Virginia area. She has served as the Percussion Caption Head at Langley High School since 2018. She has also assisted in teaching the drumline, front ensemble, and percussion ensembles at West Potomac High School, John Lewis High School, and Centreville High School. She served as Assistant Director of the Vienna Jammers Percussion Ensemble from 2021-2023.
